Now We Are Six – A.A. Milne
When I was one I had just begun
When I was two I was nearly new
When I was three I was hardly me
When I was four I was not much more
When I was five I was just alive
But now I am six, I’m as clever as clever;
So I think I’ll be six now for ever and ever.
Don’t you just wish you could keep them small forever and ever , just as in AA Milne’s poem! No party this year just a couple of hectic play dates of space gun shooting, being soldiers and chase around the house. We are now tired parents and our house is still in one piece thankfully!
Starwars tea with starry ceiling , balloons and The Hummingbird bakery cookies and cream cake chosen by himself.
The cake is basically a 3 tiered sponge mix with about 2 large freshly baked shop bought cookies roughly crumbled into the mix. I used dark chocolate chip.
You then sandwiched the layers and cover the entire surface with a frosting made with 2 tubs mascarpone , 2 small packs of icing sugar and a block of unsalted butter. It is really sweet but still moreish! The recipe suggested crumbling the leftover cookies about 2 over the frosting layers for extra bite.
